Chanakya Neeti : 6th Chapter || चाणक्य नीति : छठा अध्याय 

1. श्रवण करने से धर्म का ज्ञान होता है, द्वेष दूर होता है, ज्ञान की प्राप्ति होती है और माया की आसक्ति से मुक्ति होती है.
2. पक्षीयों में कौवा नीच है, पशुओ में कुत्ता नीच है, जो तपस्वी पाप करता है वह घिनौना है, लेकिन जो दूसरों की निंदा करता है वह सबसे बड़ा चांडाल है|
3. राख से घिसने पर पीतल चमकता है, ताम्बा इमली से साफ़ होता है, औरते प्रदर से शुद्ध होती है, नदी बहती रहे तो साफ़ रहती है|
4. राजा, ब्राह्मण और तपस्वी योगी जब दूसरे देश जाते है तो आदर पाते है लेकिन औरत यदि भटक जाती है तो बर्बाद हो जाती है|
5. धनवान व्यक्ति के कई मित्र होते है, उसके कई सम्बन्धी भी होते है, धनवान को ही आदमी कहा जाता है और पैसेवालों को ही पंडित कह कर नवाजा जाता है|
6. सर्व शक्तिमान के इच्छा से ही बुद्धि काम करती है, वही कर्मों को नियंत्रित करता है, उसी की इच्छा से आस पास में मदद करने वाले आ जाते है|
7. काल सभी जीवों को निपुणता प्रदान करता है, वही सभी जीवों का संहार भी करता है, वह जागता रहता है जब सब सो जाते है, काल को कोई जीत नहीं सकता|
8. जो जन्म से अंधे है वह देख नहीं सकते, उसी तरह जो वासना के अधीन है वह भी देख नहीं सकते, अहंकारी व्यक्ति को कभी ऐसा नहीं लगता की वह कुछ बुरा कर रहा है, और जो पैसे के पीछे पड़े है उनको उनके कर्मों में कोई पाप दिखाई नहीं देता|
9. जीवात्मा अपने कर्म के मार्ग से जाता है, और जो भी भले बुरे परिणाम कर्मों के आते है उन्हें भोगता है, अपने ही कर्मों से वह संसार में बँधता है और अपने ही कर्मों से बन्धनों से छूटता है|
10. राजा को उसके नागरिकों के पाप लगते है, राजा के यहाँ काम करने वाले पुजारी को राजा के पाप लगते है, पति को पत्नी के पाप लगते है, गुरु को उसके शिष्यों के पाप लगते है|
11. अपने ही घर में व्यक्ति के ये शत्रु हो सकते है... उसका बाप यदि वह हरदम कर्ज में डूबा रहता है,  उसकी माँ यदि वह दूसरे पुरुष से संग करती है,  सुन्दर पत्नी,  वह लड़का जिसने शिक्षा प्राप्त नहीं की|
12. एक लालची आदमी को भेंट वस्तु दे कर संतुष्ट करे, एक कठोर आदमी को हाथ जोड़ कर संतुष्ट करे, एक मूर्ख को सम्मान देकर संतुष्ट करे, एक विद्वान् आदमी को सच बोल कर संतुष्ट करे|
13. एक बेकार राज्य का राजा होने से यह बेहतर है की व्यक्ति किसी राज्य का राजा ना हो|  एक पापी का मित्र होने से बेहतर है की बिना मित्र का हो,  एक मूर्ख का गुरु होने से बेहतर है की बिना शिष्य वाला हो,  एक बुरी पत्नी होने से बेहतर है की बिना पत्नी वाला हो|
14. एक बेकार राज्य में लोग सुखी कैसे हो? एक पापी से किसी शांति की प्राप्ति कैसे हो? एक बुरी पत्नी के साथ घर में कौन सा सुख प्राप्त हो सकता है, एक नालायक शिष्य को शिक्षा देकर कैसे कीर्ति प्राप्त हो?
15.  शेर से एक बात सीखे, बगुले से एक, मुर्ग़े से चार, कौवे से पाच, कुत्ते से छह और गधे से तीन- शेर से यह बढ़िया बात सीखे की आप जो भी करना चाहते हो एकदिली से और जबरदस्त प्रयास से करे| बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति अपने इन्द्रियों को बगुले की तरह वश में करते हुए अपने लक्ष्य को जगह, समय और योग्यता का पूरा ध्यान रखते हुए पूर्ण करे| मुर्ग़े से हे चार बातें सीखे... १. सही समय पर उठे. २. निडर बने और लड़े. ३. संपत्ति का रिश्तेदारों से उचित बटवारा करे. ४. अपने कष्ट से अपना रोजगार प्राप्त करे| कौवे से ये पाच बातें सीखे... १. अपनी पत्नी के साथ एकांत में प्रणय करे. २. निडरता ३. उपयोगी वस्तुओ का संचय करे. ४. सभी ओर दृष्टि घुमाये. ५. दूसरों पर आसानी से विश्वास ना करे| कुत्ते से ये बातें सीखे १. बहुत भूख हो पर खाने को कुछ ना मिले या कम मिले तो भी संतोष करे. २. गाढ़ी नींद में हो तो भी क्षण में उठ जाए. ३. अपने स्वामी के प्रति बेहिचक ईमानदारी रखे ४. निडरता| गधे से ये तीन बातें सीखे. १. अपना बोझा ढोना ना छोड़ने. २. सर्दी गर्मी की चिंता ना करे. ३. सदा संतुष्ट रहे|
16. जो व्यक्ति इन गुणों पर अमल करेगा वह जो भी करेगा सफल होगा|

1. By listening one gets knowledge of religion, removes hatred, attains knowledge and gets freedom from attachment to Maya.
2. The crow is the lowest among birds, the dog is the lowest among animals, the ascetic who commits sins is disgusting, but the one who criticizes others is the greatest Chandal.
3. Brass shines when rubbed with ash, copper is purified by tamarind, women are purified by leucorrhoea, a river remains clean if it keeps flowing.
4. When kings, Brahmins and ascetic yogis go to other countries, they get respect but if a woman goes astray, she gets ruined.
5. A rich person has many friends, he also has many relatives, only the rich are called a man and only the rich are called scholars.
6. The intellect works only by the will of the Almighty, He controls the actions, and by His will people come around to help.
7. Kaal gives skill to all living beings, it also destroys all living beings, it remains awake when everyone sleeps, no one can conquer Kaal.
8. Those who are blind by birth cannot see, similarly those who are under the influence of lust also cannot see, an egoistic person never feels that he is doing anything bad, and those who are after money are punished for their deeds. I don't see any sin.
9. The soul follows the path of its actions, and experiences whatever good and bad results come from its actions, it gets bound in the world by its own actions and is freed from the bondages by its own actions.
10. The king is accused of the sins of his citizens, the priest working at the king's place is accused of the sins of the king, the husband is accused of the sins of his wife, the guru is accused of the sins of his disciples.
11. A person can have these enemies in his own home... his father if he is always in debt, his mother if she has partnered with another man, a beautiful wife, a son who has not received education.
12. Satisfy a greedy man by giving him gifts, satisfy a harsh man by folding hands, satisfy a fool by giving respect, satisfy a learned man by speaking the truth.
13. It is better for a person not to be the king of any state than to be the king of a useless state. It is better to be the friend of a sinner than to have no friends, it is better to be the teacher of a fool than to have no disciple, it is better to be without a wife than to have a bad wife.
14. How can people be happy in a dysfunctional state? How can a sinner attain any peace? What happiness can be achieved in a home with a bad wife, how can one achieve fame by teaching an unworthy disciple?
15. Learn one thing from the lion, one thing from the heron, four from the chicken, five from the crow, six from the dog and three from the donkey - learn this great thing from the lion that whatever you want to do, do it single-mindedly and with tremendous effort. An intelligent person should control his senses like a heron and accomplish his goal while paying full attention to place, time and ability. Learn four things from the chicken... 1. Get up at the right time. 2. Be fearless and fight. 3. Make proper distribution of property among relatives. 4. Get your employment through your suffering. Learn these five things from crows... 1. Have a romantic time with your wife in solitude. 2. Fearlessness 3. Accumulate useful objects. 4. Look everywhere. 5. Don't trust others easily. Learn these things from the dog 1. If you are very hungry but do not get anything to eat or even if you get less, be satisfied. 2. Even if you are in deep sleep, you should wake up in a moment. 3. Be honest without any hesitation towards your master. Fearlessness Learned these three things from the donkey. 1. Don't stop carrying your burden. 2. Do not worry about hot and cold. 3. Always remain satisfied.
16. The person who follows these qualities will be successful in whatever he does.
